Membership: (Noun) Defined as 1. the body of members of an organization or group; 2. the state of being a member. Further defined as an association, a relationship, a connection, an attachment. Need I go on? Many of you have come to realize that being a part of a horse club is about more than just horse shows and meetings at far away places. It is about friendship, fellowship, and a love of horses. When it comes down to it…horse enthusiasts need each other. How many of you have jobs away from home, or the farm, or your stable … and how many of you have found it difficult to find a sincere interest there in your love for your horses? I know what it is to have a profound disappointment in others whom simply can not embrace the triumphs nor understand the pit falls that we may have in our lives with these magnificent animals. I, as a horse lover cannot fathom their ambivalence, and I need people in my life to care. Is that so much to ask? I don’t think so. I know that in this quest I am not alone. A club like the Minnesota North Star Paint Horse Club is a club born from the desire of people much like myself whom have felt the need to congregate and draw support from one another. A new club indeed, but a club already showing signs of significant growth under the direction of its dedicated members and leaders. Now, It can be said in a number of different ways and in a number of different contexts, but to put it simply, a club is as only as good as it’s members. The more active members that you have, the better the club will be. As I look at this mailing list, I see a lot of good people’s names that either used to be a member, or at least at one time had expressed an interest in this clubs existence - and I see so much potential for the Minnesota North Star Paint Horse Club! You all know who you are, and I know that like the rest of us you have agendas and busy lives, but consider this for a moment as you go about your day… You are receiving this newsletter because we haven’t given up on you. Your needs and your desires and your experiences are important to us. We are inviting you to join us and become an active member of the club in 2006 because we need you. Without your membership and your participation, your voice can not be heard. The changes that one person can make in the lives of others can be inspiring. We believe this, and we are not willing to miss the opportunity to see what your future might mean to this club by simply failing to reach out to you. Like a good friend, this club is here for its members. We feel that it is not only productive to encourage our present and past members to renew their memberships, but that it is of the utmost importance that we cultivate new friendships and new memberships as well. Together we have strength in numbers, and together as members we share in our desires to maintain, define, and improve our relationships with each other and our horses. We look forward to each and every member whom may join the Minnesota North Star Paint Horse Club in 2006. I see a bright future ahead for this club, and its members are the stars which will light the way. Please … ( all of you ) take just a few moments to fill out the membership form, get involved, and let the adventure begin. Thank you.
